Why is it so difficult to put an F1 engine on a road car?

Fitting a F1 engine on a road car ! As bonkers it sounds, executing such a task. Is just beyond our imagination. Nobody in the right mind could think of doing this task until now. We have been told for a really long time, that Mercedes -Benz has managed to put Lewis Hamilton F1 engine straight into their road going hyper car called the project one . However this car has not made mass production yet. So it is safe to assume that, As of 1st August 2020 we don’t have a fully functioning F1 engine powered road car. I have highlighted F1 engine powered car, Because in the past we have seen many manufactures showcasing cars derived from F1 engine technology . F1 engine derived cars meet’s the liking of the legendary Ferrari F50 , Porsche Carrera GT and also a one-off Yamaha. These cars have been highly inspired from F1 engineering, But none of them manages to completely inherit this mind blowing technology till date.

Mercedes Benz’s for a long time is having difficulty in making a F1 car for the road’s. Let’s find out what are the factor’s hurdling the production of this ultimate F1 powered hyper car.

Start-up:

For driving a car regularly on the roads, we need to start that car at the ease of a finger tip. But we know that starting a F1 car is not easy at all, Hence can’t be termed as a “Key-Turn” vehicle. We would require a well trained pit crew to jump start at F1 powered car into life . An impact-grill is used to crank start a F1 car. As the engine in the car is so tolerant and the gap between every part is minuscule. This is the characteristic feature that makes the car produce that high power with minimum weight. An efficient way to create this amount of power tolerance are so tight from cold, The Pistons are sized within the engine block fluid. And has to to be sent at a temperature of 80 degree centigrade to run the coolant patches of the engine to loosen up or start-up

How a Formula one cars starts .

That means if you want to go on a super car event with your very expensive F1 worthy road car . You will have to start preparing your car hours before the event. Or you will need to hire some professional every time you want to drive your F1 engine powered car .

To avoid the above situations we will require a high power generating engine starter to start that Beast of a engine. Considering the fact that all the fluids are cooled in advance

Cooling the Beast:

If you are a Lamborghini Avantadoor owner in Dubai you must have experienced over heating of your thousand dollar car. Which is kinda annoying, even though Lamborghini owners face this problem occasionally. Imagine having this problem almost every time you drive your car. This annoying feeling will soon turn into a headache.

Setting Up A Formula 1 Car: Aerodynamics

F1 cars specifically made for tracks and high speed. Hence the track full-fills the high speed & high cooling requirement. But how can F1 cars on the roads mange to maintain this requirement on narrow and congested roads? .

Normally road cars deal with the heating problem , By having a large radiator in the bumper & front grill that sucks all the air while in drive, and evenly distributes it to cool the whole engine . However F1 cars require large intake openings with radiators at an angle to achieve max air flow to the high reeving engine. But high air intake is possible only when velocity is high with high apposing wind . But when you are driving a road car you are not expected to break speed limits just to cool your car. An alternative solution to not braking the laws is to install massive radiators (which won’t be pretty to watch) Along with massive cooling fans. This is to prevent the cars from over heating at low speeds and low rpms. The following formula explains the relation between heat and rpm.

Q(KW) = PEAK TORQUE (Nm) x RPM

—————————————

9565

Therefor here RPM is directly proportional to heat created by it’s engine. Hence the high reeving nature of a F1 car will generate high amount of heat. Which can be solved by fitting a custom heat exchanger along with massive radiators and cooling fans. But this a Job requires high edge engineering techniques. Hence we conclude that an engine reeving upto 15 thousand RPM in traffic is naturally gonna over heat on public roads.

COST:

Such cutting edge compact and highly tolerant engine is not expected to be a cheap build. An F1 engine costs 6.3 million pounds . Which is more than twice the price of a Bugatti Chiron . Hence modifying this 6.3 million pound engine to adapt to road conditions will require a lot expensive materials. To get this engine to reeve upto 15,000 RPM and simultaneously create 800bhp we have to use a Pneumatic Valve Train . Instead of using a classic spring to close the valve , these engines use pressurised nitrogen to shut the valve. Which in any case doesn’t sound cheap to maintain, manufacture or to use on a regular bases.

How Much Does a Formula One Car Cost? - EssentiallySports

TORQUE :

An F1 car along with the driver weighs roughly around 800kg . Which is very light compared to a standard hyper cars weights. Hence the car requires less amount of torque and high rpm to create that extraordinary amount of performance from the engine. A F1 pistons are very small (short stroke and wide bore) compared to a normal hyper car pistons , the small piston helps the car to generate that 15,000 rpm figure . Because small pistons are noticeably faster to complete an piston cycle than standard engines. Which leads to lack of torque. Where torque is directly proportional to the piston stroke length

NASCAR Cup engines compared to Formula One engines, by EPI Inc.
The reason behind the torque difference

In an ordinary hyper car weighing anywhere between 1,200 to 1,800 kg, The F1 engine here will have to function at an optimum rate to cater that amount of performance. However an hybrid trail along with turbos will help us fill up that torque gap in the AMG project one .

Marvelous Formula 1 engines – Society of Automotive Engineers

RELIABILITY:

Currently F1 Drivers are allowed to replace 3 engines in a season. However considering the fact that a road car will be built to last for more than a seasons time. Also considering how difficult to perform at such a high rate and not wearing-out is just mind blowing . An F1 engine can reeve upto 20,000 rpm, Which means a piston will have to complete 300 cycles per second. if we consider the mass of the piston then each piston can face upto 10,600 G’s of force . Cylinder pressures can reach 1,500 PSI . Which is bonkers amount of forces to handle. Hence F1 engines tend to be fragile.

Why Japanese automakers are loosing ground in India?

Maruti Suzuki :

Maruti is an Indian brand, But Suzuki owns more than 50% shares of Maruti. So Suzuki sells its cars in India in partnership with Maruti motors. Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest automaker. Suzuki had change the automotive industry with it’s Maruti 800 and Alto in the 90’s and then the Swift changed the game in the early 2000’s. Suzuki makes some of the most, low priced, fuel efficient cars in the Indian market till date . It is the only brand that can answer the question of “Kitna deti hai ?” with confidence. Suzuki manages to give some of the most mileage efficient cars with very refine engine options. But is that enough in 2020?

Maruti Suzuki introduces new norms for dealerships amid COVID-19 ...

Being the largest automaker in India already is a big title to hold on too . But the brand lacks to study the Indian customer interest and cater on it. In 2020 it is hard for a brand to rely only on mileage supremacy to get an edge in the market. It sad that the brand doesn’t care about customer safety and just offers 2 air bags in car which are rated only 2 stars in NCAP crash tests. It’s a shame, that where companies like Ford provide 6 airbags in their smallest cars like the Figo and Almost all Tata scoring more than 4 stars in NCAP crash tests . The 2 star rated equally priced Swift fails to cater a good build quality. It is not that Suzuki can’t make safe cars . The same Suzuki Swift abroad scores 5 stars in safety. It’s Suzukies poor trick to bring the cost down , that may cost the customers his life . Suzuki should know that safety is not a place to save money on. It’s a big trade-off for the customer . Plus lack of data analysis on the market is also a let down to the brand. As we know that compact Suv’s are the trending territory in Indian auto market. But India’s largest brand makes only one offering in this segment the Brezza. Honestly the Brezza loses on styling and also on technology as compared to its rivals. It also lacks engine options. Where as the competition manages to get a variety of them. The brand needs to work on their safety and design language for the brand to grow. The brand needs to stop making a ton of average cars and focus on making few cars with really good features . This will make the brand save money instead of making a lot of average cars .

LIFE >>> COST CUTTING

Toyota :

Toyota is a brand well established in India because of it’s MPV the Innova and SUV the Fortuner . Toyota is one of the largest manufacturer in USA. Toyota corrolla is the highest sold car abroad. But the brand has an completely different role in the Indian market. The brand for some reason neglects the Indian small car market completely, because of it’s great run abroad. Toyota has only two successful cars in India. The brand had attempted to enter the small car segment, but their cars failed. As they where not quite appealing and not priced as per competition. The Failure in small car segment has bought the company to a point, where it has stop trying. Which has forced Toyota in selling other manufacturers cars in the lower segments . (For example the Glanza ) . It’s a shame that the company with such a good reputation abroad has decided to stay depended on other manufacturer . If Toyota manages to get the line-up of cars from abroad. It will have a very good comeback. We know the capabilities of the brand. It is just a mater of execution and strategy in this market.

Toyota Glanza Review - carandbike
Glanza

Nissan:

Nissan is an other Japanese brand that has high capabilities but poor execution. Nissan has a very poor line up of cars in India . The brand some-how managed to keep only one Hatchback in India for a decade . The Nissan Micra was a overpriced, poorly equipped Hatchback at the time of it’s release. It also had only one sedan the sunny which was also a overpriced, poorly equipped Sedan. The companies SUV Terrano was same as the Renault Duster with a costlier price tag . The brand is selling the same cars as Renault with different naming. For example : Duster = Terrano , Scala = Sunny . Nissan copying other brands technology left a very bad image of Nissan in the auto Industry. Nissan has a very capable SUV The Nissan Kicks but poor brand reputation and high competition has taken away the Nissan customers. We know that Nissan can do better. Just a mater of execution. A brand capable to make the Godzilla can make better cars independently.

Renault-Nissan Alliance Inaugurates Plant In Chennai

Honda:

Honda is comparatively doing doing a better job in India . Honda has some of the finest engines, IV-Tec are really sporty and powerful engines. But the brand really underestimates it’s competition. It’s Korean rivals cater the public one car with a variety of engine trims and lets the customer choose their preference . But Honda just sells only the IV-Tec cars in India, even though it has a very good line-up of turbocharged cars abroad . So where Hyundai is providing a variety of engines there Honda isn’t. And an non car guy will judge a cars power just listening to turbos. Honda just needs to bring the turbo technology to India. Then only we can move on from the phrase “No more waiting till the V-Tec kicks in”. Honda also needs to focus on Suv’s and Compact Suv’s . It needs cars, which are bigger and more Suv-ish . AS we don’t really need crossovers like WRV. We know Honda can do wonders. They just need to listen to it’s customers . Japanese really need to create an Independent identity.

Honda Cars India bets big on new launches - The Hindu

Conclusion:

The Japanese companies need to watch out for customer safety along with the customer interest. The Japanese companies need to innovate rather than selling same cars with different names. The companies need to provide the customers a variety of engine options that they deserve. Their presentation needs too match modern Customers style. The need to keep the price within the competition for results. Most of the Japanese manufacturers are making alleys. I suggest the allies to work on innovation rather than selling one car with different branding.

Why hydrogen fuel cells cars are better then the hydrogen combustion cars. “Are they the really the renewable future we where promised ?”

We all know the fact when hydrogen molecule (H2 ) reacts with o2 molecule of oxygen it gives water. Hydrogen powered cars basically works on this reaction.

Hydrogen combustion cars:

We know the equation that 2H2 + o2 = 2H2o . This is the basic formula we have been thought over and over again in school . In Hydrogen Combustion cars this same reaction takes place but in the presence of nitrogen(N2) molecules . So now Hydrogen , Oxygen and Nitrogen react in the presence of Heat caused by the movement of combustion pistons. This gives us nitrogen oxide. The reaction is as follows.

2H2 + O2 + N2 = 2H2o + No . Where nitrogen oxide is harmful for your health. Plus the efficiency of Hydrogen combustion cars is 20-35% only, which is quite low

Hydrogen fuel cars

Hydrogen fuel cars are very efficient compared to hydrogen combustion cars. Hydrogen fuel cars have an efficiency of 60% as compared to 35% of hydrogen combustion cars. The reaction here is quite easy to understand. Here two molecules of H2 reacts with one molecule of o2 to give water.

Basic reaction : 2H2 + 02 = 2H2O .

Actual reaction; 2H + o = 4H+ + 4e + o2 = 2H2O.

Here the hydrogen molecule undergoes separation to form 4 Hydrogen ions along with 4 electrons. These hydrogen ions and electrons react with oxygen molecule to give water.

Why hydrogen fuel cell cars can't compete with electric cars
Toyota MIRAI a hydrogen cars

conclusion: Hydrogen fuel cell having a better efficiency over hydrogen combustion cars. Hence is much more preferable over the other . Plus the absence of nitrogen oxide produced in in Hydrogen fuel cars, makes hydrogen fuel cell cars more logical to go for over hydrogen combustion cars.

Pros of Hydrogen cars:

Hydrogen cars doesn’t cause any pollution compared to regular combustion engine cars.

Hydrogen cars can be refilled like a normal fuel car . We won’t have charging problems like electric cars.

Cons of Hydrogen cars :

Hydrogen is costly as compared to fuel.

Hydrogen is highly explosive.

Hydrogen cars have low efficiency.

Check out a review of Hydrogen cars by Michael Fisher AKA mrMobile:

Michael Fisher’s opinion on Hydrogen cars

Also check out how Hydrogen cars stands-up against Battery powered cars:

James May from Top gear compares these two technology

I personally think hydrogen is very costly at this point to make a conclusions. Plus the people (Taxi driver, Bus drivers etc) who can’t afford to lose time on filling a battery powered car , won’t probably have that much amount of money for an hydrogen refill. An ordinary individual can manage to recharge his/her EV over night or at his/her work space. But Taxi drivers and the other public transport drivers will lose time recharging their EV. This is a big trade off in their earnings.

A Solution to have a better EV network in India

In my previous blog, I had addressed the issue, Why India presently doesn’t have a good EV network. The major reason behind this is a poor charging station network. Also click on the link below to read my previous blog , if you haven’t already https://automobiles.news.blog/2020/06/24/is-buying-an-ev-in-india-a-logical-move-by-the-middle-class-community/

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is images-27472728614680063301..jpg

India presently doesn’t have a good network of charging station. The current number of charger in India is highly inadequate and can not meet the needs of everyone. These networks are also concentrated in Urban areas , which make is almost impossible for inter-state travel. So how do you seek the peoples attention towards this environment friendly alternative? Considering Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore being titled as one the most polluted cities globally. Don’t worry i may have a potential solution towards this issue.

My Personal solution toward this issue.

I guess Governments interest plays a important role in this issue. Yes, i appreciate the fact that the government has slashed the GST on EV’s from 12% to 5%. I guess it was a bold move by the government. Also slashing the GST on chargers from 18% to 12% just is a plus point to the governments side. But this is not enough, the government needs to do more. It has to go out of the box for it’s citizens. I suggest the government to make it mandatory for new buildings above 3 floors should have equal number charging points as to the number of flats in building. This will help each family in the building to have at least one charging point. If a building fails to cater this need it won’t be granted a occupation certificate. All restaurants and cafe should have equal number of charger to table ratio, for getting a licence . This will help the customer to charge their vehicle when they enjoy their meal. Hotels, malls and offices should be packed with charging stations. The government should analyse the major roads for inter-state travel and setup charging spots at a smaller interval. Road side chargers should be installed.

The government should also provide subsidiaries to private charging stations. This will help private firms setup chargers in more places. Adding to the amount of government chargers . Government should also push Indian battery manufacturers like Exide to focus on EV battery production. Indian battery producers should get a tie-up agreement with Indian automakers like Tata and Maruthi. So as to boost the economy. This is my personal opinion on the topic, Government can also follow the Norway method.

Norway Method:

Norway last year recorded 53% of it’s total sales in cars to be EV’s . So why does Norway have so many EV’s ?. The major reason behind this is actually Norway’s government it’s self. The government manages to convince it’s population to go electric, by giving the EV owners a massive advantage over the regular car owners. In Norway EV owners are benefited with 2 years of free electricity for their vehicles. EV owners also do not have to pay any toll and tax for their cars. The government also provides subsidiaries to EV manufactures, to make EV’s as well as to setup more charging stations. So how does the government afford fund so much. This is really smart, the government in Norway convince the it’s citizens to go electric, so that it can save up on Fuel and oil. Then sells all this Fuel and oil to other countries. Hence gaining a larger profit. As we all know fuel is way costlier than electricity.

A good explanation to Norway’s EV secret

I honestly feel that our government should learn from Norway.

We can save up a lot of money by going electric. As electricity is way cheaper than Fuel. This will help our economy grow as well. EV is the best remedy for getting away with pollution.

for more information on Norway’s EV innovations, check my blog on Norway’s wireless charging technology for cars: https://automobiles.news.blog/2019/03/28/wireless-charging-for-oslo-taxis-in-norway/ also check out my blog Highlighting the slashed GST on EV’s: https://automobiles.news.blog/2019/07/06/indian-budget-2019-slashes-gst-on-ev-to/

Is buying an EV in India a logical move by the middle-class community ?

“As good as it sounds to save the planet by going green”. Is it a logical move to buy a EV in India now?

Let’s look at the options that the EV world offers currently.

Upcoming electric cars in India | Upcoming electric cars in India ...
EV India

There is not much offerings in the EV market currently, with just 3 proper EV offerings in India, namely the Tata Nexon Ev, Hyundai Kona ev and the MG ZSev. These 3 are very different EV’s and doesn’t really meet the needs of everyone. The Nexon Ev is the cheapest among the 3 Evs , but 15 lacs is not really cheap for everyone. offering only a, on paper range of 312 km . The actual range will be much lesser considering the fact we will use the air conditioning unit, plus considering some of the worst traffic in BANGALURU, MUMBAI & DELHI . Expect 30% fall in battery range due to these factors .

Tata Nexon EV - India's Own Electric Compact SUV Powered by Ziptron
Nexon EV

The Hyundai Kona has a longer on paper range of 450 km, considering the fact that this car will also undergo a fall in range, considering the driving conditions, It still will be a better option for long distance travel. But costing about 25 lacs , I personally would prefer a bigger Combustion engine vehicle like the jeep Compass, at that price.

Hyundai Motor company: Hyundai Kona EV to launch on July 9, Auto ...
kona EV

The MG ZSev is the best among the three in terms of space and comfort. It also does a decent job with a on paper range of 340km. Again considering fall in range, and the price (20-24 lacs) it is quite a decent offering.

But none of these Ev’s manages to offer inter-state travel over a single charge. And at the end of the day you will be stressed-out with your car range and finding a super-charger or the respective car show room near you.

How does Tesla manage to get such a overwhelming amount of range over other EV?

Tesla is one of the few Mature EV maker in this world. The reason behind this is A smart investment by Elon Musk. If i ask what does an EV has that a combustion car doesn’t? Obviously batteries. Elon Musk made a bold move by partnering up with battery manufacturer Panasonic. Panasonic batteries partnered wih Elon musk for this crazy EV plan of his. Hence Tesla manages to get the best battery technology for cheaper than its competition .Tesla also has a Very efficient software system over the competition. This software edge helps the company to get optimum battery use . However if Tesla manages to enter the Indian market, it would have to built Factories in India “or ” Tie-up with another already existing auto company in India , Just to keep the cost down. IF we bought Tesla’s most affordable EV in India now. It would still cost around 40 Lacs which is a premium car sector in India. So Tesla like technology is still costly for the Indian market

Panasonic and Tesla Sign Agreement for the Gigafactory ...
Panasonic and Tesla partnership

So is it the rigth time to buy Ev’s?

NO, now is not the time to buy EV’s in India. We will have to wait till there are better charging networks in India . Even the cost of electricity is cheaper than petrol/diesel, But buying a fast charger will cost you in lacs . Plus you can’t charge anywhere else until there is a good Charging network. If more people buy EV’s then there will be a shortage of charging points, also there will be a waiting period for charging, which is annoying . The battery technology is still expensive and we should wait till Indian battery companies evolve and tie-up with auto manufactures. AS time passes there will be more players in the segment, so if the competition is health, the prices will also be competitive.

Need of better charging network

For those people who are still willing to save the environment, please use public transports, As the Indian government has started Electric buses in Major Cities “or” share your vehicle if possible. Ev’s will get better and better we just need to wait for the technology to evolve.

China’s influence over the Indian auto-industry

There has been a lot heat & patriotism running in the hearts of Indians recently . This is due to the unfortunate loss of 20 brave Indian Jawans in the tension caused by the Chinese troops and Indian Jawans. This lead to THE BOYCOTT CHINA MOVEMENT. Where Indians try to make India a self-sufficient & Independent Nation by not depending on Chinese goods for its betterment.

As to support the independent India vision, I would love to inform you about companies which you never knew fund Chinese revenue.

MG motors:

MG motors made it’s debut in the Indian market calling itself The Iconic British Brand. However this is not True. Morris Garages as known as MG motors was collapsing in the early 2000’s and to save the brand from termination it was bought by an Chinese automaker known as Nanjing Automobile. But later by 2007 Nanjing Automobile was later bought by SIAC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation ). MG made its debut in India last year with the MG Hector which was an immediate Hit in the compact Suv sector. It was also advertised by British actor Benedict Cumberbatch for representing the brands British heritage. Yes this strategy has made MG sell over 16 thousand Hectors in less than a year. Even though the production of the Hector is carried on in the same Indian plant where early Chevrolet productions would happen, All the revenue generated goes to the Chinese firm SIAC.

Waiting till that Turbo kicks in your car? Does AMG have a solution?

Mercedes-Benz had showcased their view of a Formula 1 car for the roads with the AMG project one back in 2017.

F1 legend Lewis Hamilton showcased the Mercedes-Benz’s high performance project with Project One back in 2017 at the International Motor show in Germany. This cars motto was to cater F1 performance in a street legal car. It has been 3 years now and the car is taking ages to reach the final production state. Let us know whats the actual reason behind the delay.

F1 legend Lewis Hamilton with the Project 1

Why is AMG having such a big Delay with the project one?

The project one is supposed to be powered by a turbo charged V6 engine with hybrid assistance. “Wondering whats the problem with making a turbocharged V6?” Ford GT has done it, Mercedes can follow up. Hybrid technology is also not new it has been Mclaren, Porsche and Ferrari has done it. then why can’t Mercedes do it. What is so different with Mercedes- Benz’s turbocharged engine? let us find out

Mercedes AMG Project One Price, Specifications, Top Speed, 0-200 KPH
F1 technology for roads

What is the difference in Mercedes-Benz’s

E-turbocharged engine. Is it a game changer?

Let us go back to 2013 where Mercedes was going crazy with the electrification of the SLS AMG . Since then Mercedes-Benz is going crazy with Electric innovations. Recently Mercedes also entered the EV market with its EQC SUV. But in the mean while Mercedes is also came-up with the idea of Electric turbo chargers.

The electric SLS AMG in 2013.

Electric turbochargers?

An electric turbocharger works on the same principles of a traditional turbocharger . But this time it eliminates the traditionally gifted turbo lag. So we can get almost instantaneous torque from turbocharged Combustion Engines as well. It also combines the instantaneous responsiveness of a small turbocharger with the performance advantage of a big turbocharger in one package. Mercede-Benz has managed to aquired this innovative technology with the help of Garrett Motion.

How is the turbo lag eleminated?

By installing a tiny electric motor into the turbocharger shaft, specifically between the turbine wheel on the exhaust side and the compressor wheel on the fresh air side. Measuring approximately  4 centimetres (1.6 inches), the electric motor powers the compressor wheel before it starts accepting the exhaust gas flow.By installing a tiny electric motor into the turbocharger shaft, specifically between the turbine wheel on the exhaust side and the compressor wheel on the fresh air side. This method will help us to get a good amount of torque at lower speed. This will also make the turbos in the engine quite responsive. E-turbos can boost up your horse-power anywhere upto 800HP.

This new technology will replace the current AMG63 lineup with the AMG73 lineup. We might be able to see this technology in future Blackseries cars.

AMG boss Tobias Moers, Future Aston Martin CEO , has already promised the Black Series will have “something different” in terms of engine, adding “we never did something like this with an engine before it is the first time AMG tests this technology” It remains to be seen whether he was referring to the e-turbo or something else.

Did you know the 63 in AMG’s current lineup represents that there is no compromise with the Engine performance and it is the top performing engine from the brand in that segment.

Which really is the fastest car in the world?

When we usually hear about fast cars we think of Ferrari , Lamborghini, Bugatti, Koenigsegg etc. But the fact is we are at a point where many car’s are getting faster and so are the companies getting more and more ambitious about their cars being the fastest and greatest. Everyone wants to prove that their cars is the fastest and no car can keep up to their speed. So let us find, as i write this blog which is the fastest cars as per 18th june 2020.

Fastest car and we instantaneously think Bugatti.

Yes Bugatti has done wonders with its Bugatti Veyron in the early 2000’s. It was an absolute masterpiece the automotive world had to seen and nearly hold the title of the world’s fastest car for almost a decade. Finally beaten by the Hennessy Venom But lot’s have changed Since then

You would be partially correct if you thought Bugatti made the fastest on going road legal Hyper car in the world. Bugatti was back at its thrown with the Chiron which was then beaten by the Koenigsegg Agera RS few months after the Bugatti’s record breaking run. But Bugatti recently made a comeback with the modified and lighter Chiron Super Sport.

Let me tell you why are you Partially correct. Bugatti Chiron Super sport toped at a speed of 490.484kmph(304.778mph) with that 8.0L quad turbocharged W16 engine creating 1,578hp. So why is 490.484kmph not the fastest street legal production run. Why Bugatti did not get the title yet. According to the rules for holding a record a car should manage to aquire the same amount of top speed in both directions of the tarmac (Road). Bugatti has only made that iconic run oneway. Hence the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport being the fastest is not really the fastest car in the world if that makes sense.

What about a Ford GT?

You maybe thinking that Ford don’t do 480kmph+ . They make pickup Trucks and Suv’s best, not high performance cars . The closest ford has reached 40kmph is with The Factory Ford Gt which goes upto 347.62Kmph (216mph) with a twinturbocharged V6 creating 700Hp. But a custom ford 1st generation ford Gt was recorded going upto 483Kmph (300.4 mph) . Which was recorded on camera. Since it is not an official car it is not counted as the fastest Car in the world.

Fastest Ford till date.

Hennessy Venom f5:

Hennessy has claimed 484.4kmph (301mph) with their Venom f5. The Venom F5 can achive this top speed with a  carbon fiber chassis which then is is powered by a 7.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 good for 1,600 horsepower. While Hennessey has yet to legitimize its claims, the F5 will reportedly dash from 0 to 401kmph (249 mph)and back to 0 in less than 30 seconds. That’s about how long it takes a mild sports car just to get from 0 to 100 mph.

Americas SSC Tuatara:

Henessy is not alone American car manufacturer in the game of making the fastest car in the world. At the time, SSC claimed the Tuatara would hit 426kmph (265 mph), but when the company revealed its production model they claimed the speed has gone up to to 483kmph (300mph). This American Hypercar is powered by a twin-turbocharged V-8, the Tuatara’s 5.9-liter flat-plane crank engine is capable of 1,750 horsepower

Koenigsegg Agera Rs still the record holder?

Yes indeed Koenigsegg Agera RS still owns the fastest car record till date because it was in 2017 koenigsegg Agera RS did that historic run where it maxed out at 457.94kmph (285mph) with a 5.0-litre V8 engine which now has a power output of 1,176 PS (865 kW; 1,160 hp) . This car successfully meat the needs of aquiring the same top speed in both direction of tarmac.

Koenigsegg Agera RS

Is Koenigsegg done with the Agera Rs or it has still to prove.

Koenigsegg this year revealed the Jesko absolute which theoretically can go upto 531.1kmph (330mph) in a straight. This is possible by  twin-turbo 5.0-litre V8. I am not good with explainig the theoretical part, So i will put a link of video by engineering explain for going into a great depth of that 330mph top speed.

Best explanation to that 330mph top speed

Fun Fact:

Koenigsegg has made it official that the Jesko Absolute will be the companies fastest Combustion engine car ever. And the company plans to move toward Hybrids and EV’s in the near Future.

Conclusion:

So finally which car is it the fastest one?

The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is the fastet road legal car recorded on camera, if we consider the fact that it has not really met the needs of the Guinness book of world record. But if we consider the fact that a car manages to meet the needs of the Guinness Book , Then the fastest car record holder is the Koenigsegg Agera RS. But if we consider a custom car that manages to meet the Guinness book needs , Then the Ford Gt mark 1 takes the title home. But if we go on company claims, then Hennessy Venom F5 takes the title home. But if we make a theoretical consideration, Then the Koenigsegg Jesko takes the title home.

So what’s next?

Keep your eyes on this concept because it is the Bugatti La Finale i.e THE END

Why Does Pagani Source AMG Eengines?

Pagani is an Italian performance automaker know for it’s iconic lineup of the Zonda, huayra etc. This company was founded by an Ex lamborgini official Horancio pagani in the year 1992.

An Italian Automotive company.

As is from the brief Horancio pagani was an Lamborgini official from 1983 and had major contribution in the 25th anniversary Lamborgini Countach. But a secure job at Lamborgini simply wasn’t enough for Horancio pagani. Horancio wanted to make his company with some of the craziest, lightest, artistic and fastest cars.

So with this crazy idea of making one of the finest supercar which Italy had to offer. Horancio pagani started a journey . But Horancio was not alone in this journey , He had a very good friend who also belived in Horancio’s dream. This good friend was none other than F1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio.

F1 legend Juan Manuel Fangio.

F1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio gave Horancio one of the most game changing advice. The game changing advice for pagani was to source performance engines from Mercedes . As Juan Manuel Fangio was an F1 driver for Mercedes he knew the potential of fentastic V12 Mercedes engines. He belived that a Mercedes V12 could just take Horancios dream to a next level.

At that time AMG the performance engine manufacturer was owned but Diamer wich was agreement between Benz and cie (1926 – 1998). Diamer was a automotive giant and owned many brand under it’s parenting for example: AMG, BharathBenz, Mayback etc. So at that time Diamer’s AMG used to make V12 engines for Mercedes which resulted as the CLKgtr a performance beast.

AMG V12’s for Pagani

But on strong recommedation of the loyal Mercedes Benz F1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio Diamer as the parent company agreed to supply purformace Mercedes-Benz M120 V12’s to Pagani as a brand. Everything was fine till the tragic news . It was the tragic news that shooked grounds for Horancio the death of F1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio in the year 1995. But somehow Horancio got over the tragic loss and released The First ever Pagani in 1999 The Pagani Zonda.

Pagani Zonda - Wikipedia
First ever Zonda

Zonda had a power output of either 400 PS (294 kW; 395 hp) or 450 PS (331 kW; 444 hp) at 5,200 rpm and 550–640 N⋅m (406–472 lb⋅ft) of torque at 4,200 rpm mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The C12 can accelerate to 97 km/h (60 mph) in 4.0 seconds and to 161 km/h (100 mph) in 9.2 seconds.

An absolute beast with elagance.

Since then a lot has changed Diamer was then bought by Fiat Chrysler Automobile. But nothing has changed with Mercedes-Benz engine supply and Pagani’s relationship. Mercedes still supplies V12 engines to Pagani . And Pagani still offer’s the finest Italian hyoercars. Mercedes also respects the fact that it’s V12 are in good use with Pagani and hence doesn’t use the exclusive V12’s for Pagani’s. Hence we only see V12’s in Mercedes-Benz’s luxury lineup. That’s the reason all Mercedes-Benz supercars are powered by a AMG V8.

Fun Fact:

The first Pagani was named Zonda after the death of F1 legend Juan Manuel Fangio as a tribute to his contribution.

An Automotive Bullet

Mclaren Speedtail is a car with this teardrop frame and a long tail like looking end, which makes the car have one of the most aerodynamically stable frame designed to cut through the air. And weighing just 1,439 kg it is one of the most lightest aerodynamically stable carbon fiber frames. This car astonishingly top’s at a speed of 403kmph(250mph). This car is the fastest car with a 3 seater configuration , which is clearly inspired from it grandfather the Mclaren F1. The Speedtail is powered by a 4.0 liter tubocharged V8 and a hybrid system of 773 Kwh . This engine can generates a crazy 848 ib-ft torque for those astonishing acceleration. So with 403kmph(250mph) top speed it is faster than the Mcalren P1 which generated a already crazy 372kmph(240mph) top speed.

This 403kmph beast can be your’s at an a price tag of 2.1 million pounds included all tax Uk (20 crores Indian Rupees ) .
